Welcome to The Biblical Family blog!
My name is Sarah Kerby. I am a follower of Christ, a lover of laughter, an introvert, a mother, a friend to a few, a sister to six, and a wife of one. I married my wonderful husband, Kyle, in August 2010 and we welcomed our baby boy, Grayson, into the world in May 2012. We found out we were expecting baby #2 two days after Christmas 2012. January 25th I miscarried at 9 weeks pregnant. We named the baby Rylie. I miscarried again in May 2013 and then again in January 2014. We named those babies Rylan and Jesse. Then I got pregnant again and the Lord saw fit to bless us with a healthy baby. I gave birth to our daughter, Mikaela, on January 3rd, 2015.
I have a Bachelors degree in Biblical Studies with a double minor in Student Ministry and Christian Education from Criswell College. I am a stay-at-home mom and housewife and I spend much of my time taking care of my sweet son, taming our crazy dog Trudy, loving on my hubby, and keeping up with my blogs! When I get the chance (which is rare these days!) I like to bake yummy treats, read a good book, or enjoy a nice bath.
I am not the perfect mother, wife, or Christian. I lose my temper, I get frustrated, and I grow weary. I rely on God’s strength, sovereignty, and grace, and I am constantly learning to do that better. My hope for this blog is that, first and foremost, it will glorify God by clearly and effectively communicating His truth about how He defines family and how we, as Christians, should be functioning in our marriages, in our sex lives, and in our parenting. I also hope that this blog will be an avenue in standing up and speaking out against the present attack on the biblical family. I hope it will be an encouragement to those of you who are striving to create or maintain a biblical family in the midst of this attack. Let us stand firm in doing it, not our way, not the culture’s way, but God’s way.
